Micronutrients on Spring Dry Pea Seed
Bill
Flory ObjectiveTest seed applied micronutrients on spring dry peas to escape pea leaf weevil damage and to increase seed yield. Location: Winchester,
Idaho TreatmentMicronutrient - Dry
pea seed treated with Wilks Micronutrients Plus Captan-Moly. CommentsWilks Micronutrients seed dressing is intended to increase emergence, vigor and the ability of dry peas to better withstand the ravages of pea leaf weevil. The Micronutrient and Check treatments had the same planting date (early). Pea leaf weevil numbers did not warrant insecticidal treatments for either the Micronutrient or Untreated Check replicates. Data
ConclusionPea leaf weevil damage approached threshold levels for insecticide treatment; however, threshold levels were not reached to warrant insecticide application to either the Micronutrient or untreated replicates. Under these conditions, there was no significant yield advantage for the Micronutrient seed dressing. |
