Effect of Fish Emulsion Foliar Application on Barley

Objective

Evaluate benefits of foliar application of fish emulsion on barley.

Location: Fairfield, WA
Annual precipitation: 21 inches
Soil series: Naff silt loam

Treatments

Foliar - 2 applications of 1 gal. per acre fish emulsion, plus 1/2 gal. per acre vegetable oil spaced out over two weeks, beginning with the flag leaf stage of growth.

Check - no fertilizer or herbicide applied.

Treated plots were 35’ by 500’, randomized and harvested with a 22 ft. header.

Conclusion
